On the Radical Economy of the Raw Line

Before the autumn dust settled on the Secession workshops of Vienna, the human silhouette was draped in decorative modesty. It took the fractured, nervous precision of the early twentieth-century figurative masters to peel away ornamentation and present form unvarnished.
Reproducing these works to museum standard is not a mechanical printing task. We assess each image for print, refining colour and detail where needed, so that the tension in a raw contour line survives the transfer instead of flattening into decor.
